Storm Surge*
From the moment I found this unusual green and white stone it was going to
be a representation of the sea during a storm. During a week of carving in
the Champlain Black marble quarry on Isle LaMotte in Vermont I came across
what became the base. The fossil in the front left is of a 480 million year
old gastropod called a
Maclurite Magnus. The stone from Isle LaMotte was used as
building stone for Radio City Music Hall in New York and the National
Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C..
