Sculpture Garden |
|
Greeting visitors as
they arrive at the
Carving Studio and
Sculpture Center on
Marble Street, the
Sculpture Garden grew
from a symposium that
honored Vermont’s
Bicentennial in 1991. It
is a celebration of
three-dimensional art
and, in particular,
Vermont marble. For
sculpture in New
England, the Sculpture
Garden provides not only
a tranquil viewing
space, but also a
thought-provoking
collection of work.
Visitors find it a
relaxing and
inspirational oasis in
which to contemplate
large-scale contemporary
art in a variety of
media. |

SculptFest |
|
At
the end of the Carving
Studio and Sculpture
Center summer workshop
season, eight to twelve
invited sculptors create
works that stand out in
our post-industrial
landscape. The resulting
work is always eclectic
and thought provoking.
SculptFest opening
receptions are gala
affairs featuring live
music/performance, a
fine art raffle and a
singular opportunity to
meet the creators of the
sculpture. Site-specific
art in a unique setting-
SculptFest is a
wonderful time to pay a
visit. |
