Annual Members’ Show & Spring Thaw Sculptors’ Forum May 15

The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center announces their Annual Members’ Show, May 15-June 27, 2010 at the Gallery, 259 Marble Street in West Rutland. All members of the non-profit arts education organization have the opportunity to show their work in this popular exhibition.  An eclectic mix of techniques and media are always represented and artists of all levels have the chance to exchange ideas after the often-solitary winter.

There will be a reception for the artists, open to the public, on Saturday, May 15, 5-7 PM.  Earlier in the day, from 2-4 PM, the Carving Studio and Sculpture Center will host the Spring Thaw Sculptors’ Forum, moderated by Meghan Rigali. The annual event features a panel of working artists and arts educators. The theme for 2010 is “Non-verbal Expression of Spirituality in Art.” The panelists will discuss the quest for a narrative of our existence, a sense of significance to our lives, relationships, experiences, triumphs and losses.
