Workshops
The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center offers weeklong workshops that are
intensive, informative and invaluable creative experiences for participants
ranging from mature professional artists to high school students exploring
life options. Highly qualified Instructors generously share their experience
in stone and most other sculptural media. Several introductory weekend
workshops in various disciplines are available May through October. We work
with local high schools and colleges to develop customized courses in
sculpture.
Artist
Residencies are integral to our programming. International Artists in
Residence are invited to the Carving Studio and Sculpture Center for one to
two months to create sculpture and interact with the arts community. Our
successful Vermont Artist in Residence program offers weeklong residencies
to Vermont artists, and is in part funded by the Vermont Arts Council. We
are pleased that for 2005 this tradition will continue with our roster of
accomplished sculptors.
Intern Program
Serious students of sculpture gain invaluable knowledge through their
participation as studio assistants. Their maintenance of the Studio and
assistance to instructors is compensated with a small stipend in addition to
room and board. Interns take part in workshops, work independently and
constitute a vital presence at the Studio. Those who are enrolled in a Fine
Arts degree program may be able to earn course credits for their
participation.
Independent
Sculpture Studio
Opportunities for independent work are available during the months of May,
September and October when workshop sessions are not scheduled. Fees are
$35.00 per day or $150.00 per week and include workspace, compressed air and
electricity. Further information is available upon request.
Gallery
