| Workshops at the Carving Studio and Sculpture Center | |||
CalendarCourses Faculty Register Online Scholarships, Grants and Aid Photo Gallery The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center offers workshops in various three-dimensional media as the core of our program. Over two dozen courses run during our season which covers the months of May through October. Participants explore technical and conceptual issues in sculptural disciplines ranging from stone carving and metal work to clay modeling and ikebana. Instructors are working artists and professional educators from around the world. |

in our intensive five-day workshops form lasting friendships and dialogues
about art and the creative
process. The in-season day begins at 9:00 AM. After a
two-hour break for lunch at noon, work continues until 5:00 PM. Participants
join in our famous communal evening meals, usually followed by presentations
of individual artwork by instructors, resident artists, interns and others.
We encourage those enrolled in workshops to bring slides of their own art to
share in this exchange.

Upon registration,
participants receive an extensive list of lodgings including many local
motels, inns and B&Bs, as well as homes of community members who make our
visitors feel welcome, often for a very modest fee. We make every effort to
acquaint our guests with local cultural attractions and events in order to
make their stay memorable. Participants are welcome to make use of our
professionally maintained fleet of bicycles as transportation.
