Carving in Alabaster, Limestone & Marble : July 8-12

This workshop will focus on direct carving and three-dimensional thinking to discover the shape and carve away the excess material. You can choose from alabaster boulders, limestone or marble blocks and even combine stones to create your sculpture.  You will learn the whole process from effective use of tools to polishing and finishing textures.  

There will be class demonstrations every day and discussions about carving techniques, imagery and maintenance of tools. Individual instruction will accommodate all skill levels from beginners to advanced carvers.
